Bill has been a general civil litigator for thirty years in the Mobile, AL, and wider Gulf Coast region. During that time he has handled a wide variety of litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Bill grew up in the Birmingham, AL area, attended Hueytown High School, and graduated in 1987 from the Univ. of Alabama-Birmingham. Bill graduated cum laude from Cumberland School of Law in 1990 and has been a resident of Mobile since that time. Bill initially worked as the Federal law clerk for the Hon. U.S. District Judge Virgil Pittman for two years before entering private practice. The focus of Bill’s litigation practice has varied over the years, ranging from representing plaintiffs in personal injury, worker's compensation, and LHWCA matters, and representing insurance defense clients early in his career, to later defending and advising individuals and businesses in matters involving insurance defense litigation, insurance coverage issues, worker's compensation, employment law, and commercial liability, and fraud matters. For the past three years, Bill has been exclusively engaged in representing consumers and businesses who are the victims of bad and dishonest business practices by pest control operators in the Gulf Coast region. Bill and his wife Juli live in Midtown Mobile, and they have two wonderful children, Jackson (17) and Chloe (15). He and Juli are active members of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Mobile and are involved in a variety of community organizations.
Termite Litigation
After over 27 years of general litigation practice in the Mobile, AL region, Bill embarked on a very different career path: representing the homeowners, businesses, and charities of the Gulf Coast region who have been victimized by the dishonest and bad business practices of members of the pest control industry providing termite prevention and control services. This practice is personal to Bill because he has seen friends and members of his community suffering needless and often devastating losses to their homes, business buildings, and Churches due to the pest control industry’s often dishonest and all too often shoddy business practices. Bill has mastered a wide array of subjects necessary to be truly successful in litigation against this industry: the science of entomology and the biology of subterranean termites, the Federal laws governing insecticides, State regulatory requirements, principles of construction of residential and commercial buildings, relevant building codes, the history of the pest control industry especially its biggest players, as well as the relevant law and the principles of mandatory arbitration. In the past twenty-six months, Bill has obtained recoveries in litigation and arbitration for 24 of his termite clients, totaling nearly $11,000,000.00. In doing so, Bill has helped over half a dozen of his fellow lawyers whose clients were referred to him with claims against termite companies, generating over $850,000.00 in referral fees for his fellow attorneys in the Gulf Coast Region. If you have termites or termite damage, you need a termite lawyer. If you have a client who has termites or termite damage, you need to contact a termite lawyer for them.
